Randomness – Flash Cards & Wins

Since I have not been able to finish reading the 3rd novella in my anthology yet to write a review for today I wanted to share an idea I had plus the four giveaways I’ve won so far.  I am in aw of how many acronyms people use in the book blogging world and how many giveaways occur but I wanted to just do a fun little post for today!  Enjoy…

So the other day while reading through a few of my comments on my blog I ran across an acronym that I did not know, HEA, I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what it meant.  LOL.  So I finally broke down and asked!  So then I started remembering other acronyms that I had come across throughout my blogging in the book readers communities, and with some help of fellow bloggers (Yummy Men and Kick Ass Chicks, Fiction Vixen and Smexy Books), decided to share some with you all.  I keep joking that I am going to make flash cards, you never know I just might!  🙂

Giveaway Wins:

Back at the end of December I won this wonderful giveaway from Smexy Books. The author Inez Kelley sent it my way through e-mail but I still have not picked it up to read it.  This weekend my goal is to get the PDF sent to my Kindle and start reading it next.  So hopefully by next week…probably Friday….I will have a review up for it and a HUGE thank you post to both Smexy Books and Inez Kelley for the wonderful opportunity!

Last week was my lucky week! I won 3, that’s right THREE, giveaways…I really thought about buying a lottery ticket just to see if my luck would keep up but decided against it.  But here are the 3 giveaways I was lucky enough to win…

The first giveaway was from The Spinecracker for the first book in the Jane True series.  I have had this series on my TBR list for a few months but since I had so many other books on my TBR list I hadn’t even looked into buying the series.  So now that I have the first book in the series (or will shortly in the mail) I will be moving this series up on my list and diving in!  I have a few other series on my list to read but I want to read this one soon and get a review/THANK YOU post up for the wonderful opportunity to with this book!

I received this giveaway from Twimom227 who is celebrating her 40th birthday and blogiversary throughout the entire month of February.  One of her giveaways was this wonderful book from one of her favorite authors!  I am very excited to read this book.  I was informed that this is the 8th book in a series so I might break my own code of reading a series in order and go ahead and read this when I receive it!  That way I can do a review post and a huge THANK YOU for the opportunity to read this.  If I like it as much as I believe I will then I’ll go back and start at book one.

I will be receiving this book in the mail as well soon.  I won this from Smexy Books after they did an interview with the author Jon Merz and then coupled that with a giveaway.  This book sounds so interesting since it has some awesome fighting in it as well as some paranormal aspects!  I am VERY excited to read this since this will be my VERY FIRST paranormal book by a male author.  🙂  I have high hopes for this book and I will be reading it soon for the Review and HUGE THANKS for the wonderful opportunity!

Can you think of any other Acronyms commonly used throughout the blogging world?? What has been your favorite giveaway win??

  1. One I discovered and used recently is BAMF…Big *ss Mother F***er. I guess you could also use Bad instead of Big.

  2. Also did you know – m/m/f – means a threesome where the boys also play – but m/f/m means no m/m interaction.

    Tricksy!

    🙂

  3. Jen D – Oh good one! BAMF…I’ll have to remember that! 🙂

Mandi – That is tricky! Now I’ll have to keep that in mind when I read people’s reviews and write my own. 🙂 You learn something new every day!

  4. Oh Mandi, I didn’t know that! You really DO learn something new everyday!
Acronyms, there is also D/s when it comes to erotica. Dominant/submissive. I thought of that one too late. And sometimes H/H is written H/h but means the same thing.
And I am jealous of you and your Inez Kelley book. I have to buy that one! I really enjoy her. She has a great writing voice and style.

  5. Julie – Oh that’s a good one to know too! D/s… I’ve never read anything by Inez Kelley but from all the reviews I read I gathered that she is an amazing author. I am excited to get this one read! 🙂

  6. LOL @ Flashcards for those acronyms!

I use TBB for books that are ‘To Be Bought’ or ‘To Be Borrowed’, but I don’t know if that’s the whole blogging world or just me. But now you know in case you see me using it somewhere. 😉

  7. Forgot to say congrats on those books you won! They all look awesome!
I have the first two Jane True books on my TBR and every month tell myself THIS is going to be the month I read the first book. I actually read the first 40+ pages or so… I really have to just pick it up and stick with it. I totally adore the covers and also love following Nicole Peeler on twitter. She’s a lot of fun. 🙂

    • Yeah I am looking forward to getting the first Jane True book into my posession! It looks great. I do love the covers but I am not following Nicole Peeler on Twitter, I have a werid feeling that I should have at least read one of the authors books before following them on twitter…I’m weird I know!
